About Us

Our Mission

ArcScan is an innovative, dynamic company that aims to globally advance and evolve medical imaging through usage of intelligent, very high-frequency ultrasound technology, resulting in improved diagnostic and surgical outcomes.

Our History

ArcScan was founded in February 2007 in Golden, Colorado, and has been led by Andy Levien. His vision was to commercialize the Artemis 2 ultrasound technology developed by Professor Dan Reinstein, MD, and Ron Silverman, PhD.

Today, ArcScan has expanded the applications and simplified the system, which is installed in approximately 70 clinics worldwide, including highly respected academic, hospital, and military sites. Now rebranded as the Insight 100, surgical planning is based on precise, repeatable imaging of the anterior segment. Using robotically-controlled very-high-frequency ultrasound and smart software, imaging in the “Dark Zone” behind the iris.

ArcScan’s Swept Beam Liquid Interface is dedicated to improving image quality, ease of use, and result reproducibility. Our innovations have led to 26 issued and pending ArcScan patents. Due to the success of accommodating intraocular lenses and the ever-growing refractive surgery market, intelligent imaging and precise measurements are more necessary than ever before.
